Simple Summer Cookies {Beach Themed}

I love summer. I love the beach. I have a huge collection of sea shells that I collected as a little girl sitting in a box at my parents house. When my two year old found that box and proceeded to take almost every shell out and "listen" to the ocean, I knew I had to make some beach themed cookies (because EVERYTHING is better in cookie form, right?!).

Hope everyone is having a happy summer!

Calling all Followers and Friends!!

Hi guys,

So, I am taking the summer off for orders but I still plan on making cookies. I really want to do at least one tutorial so I'm asking for ya'lls input. If you could have me do one tutorial what would it be? I want to re-do my 'how to flood a cookie' tutorial, so I could do that, but I would be happy to take requests! So please leave your comments or feel free to email! I would love to start doing more tutorials on cookie basics as well as how to decorate with intricate details and different techniques.

much love friends!

Lace Inspired Cookies {baby baptism}

There must be something in the water, I have been getting SO many baby cookie orders and inquiries. Here is yet another set for two cute six month old twins getting baptized.

I always love when someone has a clear picture of what they want AND they are obviously artistic and know what looks good. Loved doing this cookie order.

She also ordered a six inch circle that went on top of a cake as a topper.

Thanks for the order Paige! And thank you to all readers and followers, if you have any questions or comments at all feel free to email me or leave a comment :)

Painted Cookies {baby announcement}

So,  I've only done a few painted cookies (my first set here), and I was so happy to do an order of all painted cookies! I really want to start painting more, it's fun and its also SOOO nice because you only have to make white royal icing instead of 10 different colors!! Woot woot, I was sure happy about that!

These were for a women who is having her third baby and wanted to announce it to her husband in a fun way. Such a great idea!!

The 'I'm Pregnant' cookie..

The painted due date and mini onsie with a duck. I really love mini cookies by the way, they are adorable!

Of course a cookie with a painted stork, this was my faveee!

I'm a dummy and didn't get a picture of this entire cookie, BUUUT it said "& Then There Were 3"

Can't wait to do more painted cookies in the future! Thank you Eliza for your order!!

More cookies coming this week

Gender Reveal Party {Owl Cookies}

These cute little owl cookies are off to Texas for a gender reveal party! I used this chocolate chip rollout recipe and it was amazing! I added sour cream and buttermilk to mine to make them a bit softer, and just a tad extra vanilla for sweetness. We've been eating the leftovers all week, they are delish.

For the ombre feathers, I used 6 colors of pink/blue and did my own version of brush embroidery. Instead of using the bristles of a paint brush, I used the opposite end to drag the icing and I love how it turned out!

All of the 'girl' owls had little roses or bows.

Thanks for your order Crystal!

Gingerbread Cookie Favors

I forgot to post these cookies over the holiday break. I did 300 of these babies and got them done by the skin of my teeth (thanks to the help of my sweet, patient husband who was up making cookie dough at 3 am when I ran out. CAN YOU SAY SAINT?!). Because they were simple, I thought I'd be able to finish so much quicker.. so wrong there! And I ran out of cookie dough because these cookies were quite large. I'd never run out of cookie dough before so it was a little stressful.

But they turned out great and I was SO happy when these puppies were done! These were for Sidwell Friends parents night in DC (this happens to be where Sasha and Malia Obama attend school.. Who knows, maybe the president ate my cookies!!)

Anyway, because I got them done so late at night, I didn't get good pictures, but here's an idea of how they turned out! I'm not a huge fan of gingerbread, but these were so yummy and soft.

I will be posting some upcoming orders in the next day or so, hope everyone has a good week!

Paris Valentine Cookies {and a cookie swap!}

Hi friends! I did a little cookie swap this past weekend with Myra over at Sugar Oven Cookies.. Let me just say she is amazing and her cookies are DELICIOUS! Seriously, they taste incredible.

We decided to do whatever theme we wanted, because I will be cutting back on the cookie making (I HAVE to finish my bachelors degree.. I'm so close!!), I decided to do valentines cookies! Paris themed that is. I will warn you these pictures are not the absolute best.. it was overcast for like a week strait so I had no choice but to take them with bad lighting. But here they are!!

My little birds in their bird cages.

I brushed all the silver with silver pearl dust mixed with orange extract to get the shine!

Now here are Myra's cookies! I was SO excited when I was notified of my package at the front desk. It took a lot of self control not to eat all of them that very moment.. I had to wait to take pictures the next day. But They were scrumptious! So moist and AMAING. They looked as good as they tasted.

I loved the feathers!

This one was my favorite (that's why I ate it first of course).

Look at all those beautiful, bright colors! I want to make cookies like these!!

So everyone go check out Sugar Oven, you won't be disappointed you did. Hope you enjoyed the cookies, HAPPY BAKING!
